Police identify driver killed in I-96 accident

LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WSYM) - The Ingham County Sheriff's Department has identified the woman killed in a three-vehicle crash on I-96 Thursday.

72-year-old Marilyn Louise Larcock of Harrison Township was killed in the crash.

It's believed that distracted driving may have played a factor, but its unclear which driver was potentially distracted.

Three cars were involved in the crash which happened on westbound I-96 near M-52 around 10:30 a.m..

One driver had a male driver and female passenger from Southfield/Romulus.

Larcock was in the second vehicle with a male driver, they were both from Harrison Township. He was taken to Sparrow for treatment of his injuries.

The third car had a female driver and passenger, both from Manistee.

No one in the third car required an ambulance.

Westbound and eastbound lanes were closed for hours following the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
