LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - Police have identified the driver killed in an early morning car accident near I-496 in Lansing as 23-year-old Roderick Shawn Reeves Jr. of Lansing.
The accident happened around 4:20 a.m. Friday on the Walnut Street ramp to westbound I-496.
When police arrived to the scene they found a damaged car and Reeves Jr. unresponsive inside.
Reeves Jr. was taken to the hospital where he later died.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
Lansing Police say Reeves Jr. tried taking the exit too late and lost control of his vehicle.
Bald tires and wet roads were also factors in the crash.
Police continue to investigate.
