UPDATE: School reports all clear after Grand Ledge High School locked down

Grand Ledge Public Schools has posted on their Facebook that the Grand Ledge Police Department has given an "all clear," after three schools were on lockdown due to a suspicious situation.

The schools were on lockdown Wednesday when police received a report of a man with a gun at the high school. Police were on scene investigating.

The Grand Ledge Police Department says officers and Eaton Couty deputies responded to the call of a possible man with a gun at the high school at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Information was conveyed to the high school that subjects in the area were overheard talking about having guns, the department reports. In response to this information, the schools were on lockdown.

Witnesses were able to provide the identities of the subjects involved, and they were contacted by officers, the department reports. It was determined that there was no firearm involved, and no threat to the public.

STudetns at all schools were released to normal classroom activity at 1 p.m.
