DELHI TWP., MI (WSYM) - A man who tried to run from officers in Delhi Township Saturday morning didn't get far when he ended up trapped in a fenced in area.
Ingham County Sheriff deputies say it started as a traffic stop around 1:00 a.m. when they spotted a car stopped in the middle of Cedar Street near the intersection of Delhi Commerce Drive. When deputies pulled the car over they say a 24-year-old passenger jumped out and started running.
A perimeter was set up with help from both Lansing Police and Michigan State University Police. They brought in a K-9 team who helped track the man to a nearby wooded area that's fenced in. Officers say when the man realized he was surrounded, he crawled out.
He was arrested on outstanding felony drug charges and absconding parole.
Deputies say a 45-year-old man who was in the car and was cooperating with police was arrested on outstanding charges.
