Police charge suspect in weekend shooting

LANSING, Mich. — Lansing police have charged the suspect involved in a shooting that sent a 26-year-old to the hospital.

Police have charged Timothy Dwayne Collins, 29, with the following:
Count 1: Assault with Intent to Murder
Count 2: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault)
Count 3: Weapons – Carrying Concealed
Count 4: Weapons – Firearms – Possession by a Felon

His bond has been set at $100,000 cash/Surety.

Police say the 26-year-old is in stable condition with a non-life threatening shooting injury at a local hospital.

The shooting happened Saturday around 4:30 in the morning.

Collins is set to be back in court next month. He will have is probable cause conference on April 3 at 8:15 a.m and his preliminary exam will be on April 9 at 1 p.m.
