A Jackson man was arrested in connection with a September shooting of a 15-year-old boy, and is also suspected to be responsible for the shooting of a student who was boarding a school bus last month at T.A. Wilson Academy.

The Jackson Police Department reports that an 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The shooting occurred on Sept. 1, around 8:50 p.m. in the area of Merriman and Stevens streets.

The suspect was arrested during a traffic stop on US 127 North, near the Parnall Road exit. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.

Police say the man arrested is suspected of being responsible for the shooting of a 17-year-old male that was shot boarding a school bus in the 300 block of W. Biddle Street on Sept. 26.

The victim was shot one time in the arm.

This incident is still being investigated, and no charges have been filed, police say.
