It didn't take long for police to track down the man accused of robbing an American 1 Credit Union in Jackson.
They say the 33-year-old man walked into the credit union on North Street Tuesday, handed the teller a note saying he had a gun, demanded money and then took off.
Officers were able to catch him the same day, based on the description.
American 1 Credit Union released the following statement in response to Tuesday's robbery:
On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, the American 1 Credit Union branch on North Street in Jackson was robbed.
In response to the incident, Laura Pryor, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for American 1 Credit Union stated, “All of us who work at American 1 are so grateful that none of our team members were harmed during yesterday’s incident. We also could not be more thankful for the responsiveness of the Jackson City Police Department.”
“The speed with which the police department responded and apprehended a suspect was
remarkable,” continued Pryor. “Our community is protected by an outstanding group of
officers who serve the citizens of Jackson with expertise and professionalism every day.”
