LANSING, Mich. — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with an alleged assault at a residence in the 2200 block of Risdale Avenue in Lansing.

Police located the suspect early Thursday morning at a residence in the 4300 block of Richmond Street and arrested him without incident.

Officers were initially dispatched to the 2200 block of Risdale at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday on a call that the man assaulted a woman.

They were later informed shots may have been fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers saw fire coming from a second floor window of the residence and located the woman. The woman “suffered minor injury” and didn’t need hospitalization, according to a Lansing Police Department news release.

Police said there were no injuries as a result of the fire and that it was extinguished safely by the Lansing Fire Department.

Officers were told the male suspect fled the scene after they arrived. He was later found by police inside a home on the 4300 block of Richmond Street.

Police arrested him without incident. He was transported to a police detention facility.
