A man wanted out of Lansing is behind bars following an hours-long standoff at a motel Monday night.
The Eaton County Sheriff's Office says they got a tip from Crime Stoppers about a wanted fugitive that was currently staying at the Motel 6 on West Saginaw Highway in Delta Township.
Sheriff's deputies were able to verify which room the suspect was staying in and attempted to negotiate to get him out of the room. The Eaton County Sheriff's Office says the suspect did not cooperate.
After several hours, deputies from the Sheriff's Special Response Team took the suspect into custody. The motel had to be evacuated because of the nature of the suspect's warrants.
No one was hurt. The Delta Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police assisted the Eaton County Sheriff's Office in the apprehension of the suspect.
The fugitive will be turned over to the Lansing Police Department because they hold the warrants for his arrest. His name will not be released at this time.
