It's time to great creative and send in that poem for the Lansing Poetry Contest.
Up to 8 poems will be selected and etched into city sidewalks in Lansing's Old Town, REO Town, the Stadium District, or the Eastside neighborhoods.
Anyone, any age, that lives in the Tri-County area (Ingham, Clinton & Eaton Counties) can participate.
The press release on the project states that "the project aims to engage people in the Capitol City Region in “the poetry of place,” an examination of the myriad ways in which our environment is like “a second skin” shaping how we see ourselves and the world."
Those wanting to enter the contest need to submit their poems by midnight on May 12, 2018. You can submit your work online here. Contest guidelines, sample poems, and information on the neighborhoods that will be displaying the poems can also be found there.
You may submit up to two poems but only one per neighborhood.
