Protestors are expected to gather in downtown Lansing today, ahead of a public hearing on the controversial pipeline on the straits of Mackinac.

The Pipeline Safety Board is holding their last meeting today before the line five pipeline studies are released in June.

The State Commission is expected to hear Enbridge Energy's plan to address parts of the pipeline that are deteriorating.

Demonstrators say the pipeline poses a serious threat to Michigan water ways and are calling on Enbridge to shut it down.

A rally is set to begin at noon today at the Michigan Agency for Energy. The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m.
