LANSING, Mich. — The outbreak of salmonella infections linked to pig ear dog treats continues.

The infections have expanded to 27 states and so far, 93 people have gotten sick with 20 of them being hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

The recalled ears were sold at Pet Supplies Plus store in more than 400 stores across the United States.

Consumers who purchased the product should throw them away in a secure container so that pets and other animals can't eat them.
