The Lansing Symphony Orchestra has had several different locations for its administrative offices in downtown Lansing over the years, and on Friday they celebrated their most recent move.
The LSO moved into its current location, at 104 S. Washington Square, Suite 300, about a year ago, and renovations were completed this spring.
“We love the energy, variety and exposure that downtown Lansing provides to our business,” LSO Executive Director Country Millbrook said. “Despite 87 years in the community, we find that our location helps introduce new people to the orchestra each day. The simple act of having a sign on Washington Square helps expand our audience and encourage new people to support the arts in Lansing.”
On Friday, the LSO held a ribbon cutting ceremony to invite the public to live music, and to explore the new space.
The ribbon cutting was also held in conjunction with Arts Night Out, which pairs an artist with a venue, which might not regularly have art, to display their work.
