JACKSON COUNTY, Mich. — A number of individuals are getting calls from the Jackson County Health Department asking for information about health insurance coverage or other questions. Please understand that this is someone or an agency impersonating the Jackson County Health Department.
We believe this is a scam targeting the elderly to obtain sensitive information. Due to privacy reasons, the Health Department would NOT call and leave a message asking for health insurance information.
If you receive one of these calls and are unsure, please try to ask the caller to identify themselves and ask as much information as possible—ask for a name and number, and report it to the police by calling 911.
