Ingham County Phoenix Court opened it's doors a few weeks ago with a new treatment program for victims of sex trafficking and other types of sexual exploitation.

This program will help treat young victims by providing academic services and therapy while avoiding criminalizing victims and placing blame on their families. It's Michigan's first court that focuses on providing both male and female victims with other options in life. The program has already assisted in providing treatment to a 15-year old victim of sex trafficking and she's been doing great since enrolling in the program.

Judge Laura Baird says she will continue getting the best training for these victims with experienced therapists and counselors who will work with law enforcement to combat prostitution in the state.
