The Ingham County Election Commission has approved language for petitions aiming to recall four members of the Williamston school board over the district's transgender policies.
Opponents of the policies have been working to recall the board members since last year.
They require the district to recognize a student's chosen gender, and customize support to allow each student to have equal access to educational activities.
The petitions must get over 1,400 signatures by August 3 to get on the November ballot.
