LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - The person of interest in the Friday shooting at Pattengill Academy in Lansing has turned himself into police.

21-year-old Kahlil Jamal Withers-Fleming turned himself into Lansing Police at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators determined over the weekend there was enough probable cause to arrest Withers-Fleming for his role in the shooting.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, police responded to Pattengill Academy located at 626 Marshall Street on reports of a shooting.

A 15-year-old girl was shot inside an SUV in the north parking lot of the school. The vehicle was occupied by her parents and a 21-year-old male.

The girl was taken to Sparrow Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She has since been released from the hospital and is recovering.

The weapon involved in the shooting has been recovered.

Both Pattengill Academy and nearby Lansing Catholic were placed under lockdown as police swept both buildings to ensure there was no longer a threat.

The lockdown lasted for approximately one hour.
