People upset about fishing hooks and lines around park

It's a beautiful park in the middle of the Grand River where people come to enjoy nature, walk their dogs, or go fishing.

Unfortunately, they're also having to look out for the junk left behind--like fishing lines and hooks on the shore.

People with pets are saying it's affecting how they will walk their dogs--not letting them go off the sidewalk, for instance. Others are worried about the wildlife.

FOX 47 News hasn't heard back from the city regarding who's responsible for cleaning up the park on a regular basis. Park-goers like Sherry Wohlfert say they think everyone should be responsible:

"Being good stewards of the earth and the environment is part of our job," she explains, "so I just think we all need to take it a little more seriously."
