LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Republican Party announced today that special guest Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, will keynote the 33rd Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference on September 20th – 22nd. The event, hosted at the historic Grand Hotel, brings together conservative leaders from across America to discuss solutions to the critical issues facing our nation. Vice President Pence will be the first ever sitting Vice President to attend the conference, which has been held since 1955.

From the beginning of the Trump/Pence administration, Michigan has experienced a renaissance in its manufacturing economy, with nearly $8 billion in new automotive investment this year alone. The administration also took the lead on numerous issues of paramount importance to our state such as the Soo Locks expansion, and over $300 million for Great Lakes Restoration.

“It is a tremendous honor that Vice President Mike Pence chose to attend this year’s Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, and it shows the Trump administration’s commitment to our state.” said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox continued, “Michiganders are thankful for President Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda and the prosperity it has brought back to our state. Michigan Republicans look forward to hosting the Vice President and hearing the administration’s vision for the future of our nation.”
