Jackson residents will rally this morning in response to the shootings of two black men by police last week in Louisiana and Minnesota.
Community members will gather at the corner of Francis and Prospect Streets for a peaceful walk/rally to show unity in the community.
Organizers say in light of racial unrest across the country, they want to promote peace and solidarity for men in the community.
People are urged to show up at the rally today with signs.
The walk begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Demonstrators will begin at the corner of Francis and Prospect and walk to Washington Street and Francis, and then return to Francis and Prospect.
Pizza and water will be provided following the rally.
