The Michigan Democratic Party announced it would welcome President Barack Obama to Michigan on Friday, October 26 to campaign with Senator Debbie Stabenow, Gretchen Whitmer, congressional candidates Matt Longjohn, Gretchen Driskell, Elissa Slotkin, and Haley Stevens, and Democratic candidates up and down the ballot in advance of the November 6th elections.
Garlin Gilchrist II, and other statewide and local elected officials and candidates will join President Obama during his visit to the Great Lakes State. Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, will also attend, as Michigan voters are set to decide on Proposal 2, a measure that would create an independent commission to manage the establishment of the state's congressional and state legislative districts.\
