LANSING, Mich. — Parts of a bill package inspired by the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal are being reintroduced in the State Legislature.
Legislation like expanding Michigan's mandatory reporter law to include coaches and trainers didn't clear the State Senate before end of the last session.
The bill package features both Democratic and Republican sponsors in both the State House and State Senate.
They would do a number of things like ban those in authority from interfering with reports of sexual misconduct and adding more resources for combating campus sexual assault.
Some of the bills also include automatic medical license revocation for certain crimes and require doctors to disclose to patients if they're on probation.
The bills from Senate and House are now on their way to Senate and House committees for review.
