Construction equipment and Park Closed signs greeted would-be-visitors Tuesday morning at Ormond Park.

FOX 47 News received a tip that protestors will be at Ormond Park to try to stop construction crews from creating a driveway through the park.

Members of the "Friends of Ormond Park" community park were at the site on Monday trying to block the work from beginning.

The city is building a road through the park to create a new entrance to Groesbeck Golf Course. The project has been stalled for months while the neighborhood group took the city to court. That changed Friday, when an Ingham County judge okayed the project to continue.

Neighbors argue destroying will be unsafe for children and will threaten the environment.
