GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A federal judge ruled that a husband and wife in Grand Haven must pay their son back for his collection of pornographic material they destroyed.
The man identified as "Charlie" moved for a summary judgement in the case that FOX 17 first reported on in April 2019.
The judge granted his motion this week, saying the facts of the case were not in dispute by either the parents or the son. Judge Maloney overruled an argument by the parents that the collection included potentially criminal material.
Now both sides will argue over how much the collection was worth.
A decision on the amount the parents will have to pay will not be made until sometime in 2021.
