Organizers of an annual Fourth of July fireworks show in one Michigan city say their fundraising efforts to support the event need a boost.

Saginaw Area Fireworks President Thomas Roy tells The Saginaw News that they're about $80,000 short of raising the $125,000 needed to put on the show. He says the show will go on in Saginaw regardless since there's a contract in place, but it will need to be paid for.

Donations are being collected this week. The show takes place at Ojibway Island, about 85 miles (137 kilometers) northwest of Detroit.

The show's cost includes security, portable restrooms and incidentals. It's paid for by donations and Roy notes that the event "enriches the community."
