There's new information on a plan to make growing medical marijuana safer in Lansing.
The city council has passed an ordinance allowing for inspections of homes that use higher than normal amounts of electricity.
Most marijuana-growing operations fall into that category.
The idea is for the Board of Water and Light to make sure those homes have the proper equipment to prevent overloaded electrical circuits and fires.
