DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — After several complaints and concerns of safety, the Delta Patrol is pushing an ordinance to stop people from parking on streets and highways during the early hours.

The Delta Township Facebook page includes a push to stop people from parking on streets and highways between 2 and 6 a.m.

The Delta Patrol says on the post that they are increasing the enforcement efforts because of snow removal, safety concerns and an increase in complaints.

That has people like Layne Ingram both for and against the ordinance.

"I think I'm split down the middle of it. I think its definitely good for the city to get our streets clean. It's good for public safety, but I also think it's an inconvenience, especially if you have people over and your driveway isn't that big," said Ingram.

Others think it's a good idea.

"I think its a good thing because you should keep the streets cleared for the plows so they can do their job. I think its a positive thing," said Frank Leven.

People who break the ordinance will get a civil infraction and a $15 fine.
