The Ingham County Sheriff's Department arrested Cari Ann Wright, a 43-year-old Onondaga woman, in connection with the death of her daughter, 16-year-old Hannah Warner.
Officers arrested the woman with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team on Monday, February 29, 2016.
Sheriff's deputies were called to Wright's home in Onondaga for a death investigation on November 17, 2015. Sheriff's Office detectives were notified and began an investigation into the death of the teenager. They investigated allegations of child abuse, torture, and homicide. The charges were later referred to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office and a warrant for Wright's arrest was authorized on February 24, 2016.
Wright is charged with Felony Murder, 1st Degree Child Abuse, and Torture. The offenses are alleged to have taken place at the family's home in Onondaga Township.
Wright is currently lodged at the Ingham County Jail. She has been denied bond, and awaits her next court dates. A pre-exam conference has been scheduled for March 10 at 8:30 a.m., and a preliminary hearing on March 17, at 9:30 a.m. The hearings will take place before Judge Thomas Boyd of the 55th District Court.
