One man has died following an officer involved shooting.
It happened on the 8000 block of Clark Lake Road Sunday morning.
A neighbor called police when they heard fighting from across the street.
Two officers responded to the call. Shortly after arriving police opened fire on a man outside of the house. The man died from a gunshot wound.
A neighbor told us the man who was shot, threatened police with a baseball bat before opening fire. The neighbor also said domestic violence was not uncommon and it was the first time police were called.
The Columbia Township Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff's Department, and Michigan State Police were on scene investigating Sunday afternoon.
The investigation continues.
