One woman is dead and another was listed in critical condition after a crash in Calhoun County, the sheriff’s office reports.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 12:16 p.m. Wednesday at Partello Road and 20 Mile Road.
The office says a 67-year-old woman driving a Ford Fusion southbound on 20 Mile Road, was struck by a Dodge Durango traveling eastbound on Partello Road.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her female passenger was airlifted to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo by the University of Michigan’s Survival Flight. The passenger was listed in critical condition, the sheriff’s office reports.
Both male occupants in the Durango were treated and released from Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.
The office says information gathered about the crash indicate that the Fusion may not have stopped at the traffic sign at the intersection.
Airbags were deployed and it appears all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation.
