LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Thursday morning.

The accident involved three vehicles, resulting in the death of a 78-year-old female from Lansing, according to state troopers.

It happened on September 26 at 10:27 a.m. on North State Rd. near Belding Road in Orleans Township.

Early investigations show that a 2009 Buick Lucerne, driven by the deceased female, was in the northbound lane waiting to turn left into a business when she was rear-ended by a 2012 Dodge Caravan.

The Buick was pushed into the southbound travel lane where it was struck by a 2000 Ford 250, according to MSP.

The female driver was alone in the car.

The driver and the passenger of the Caravan, and the driver of the F 250 were all transported to the hospital for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation.
