A 21-year-old female driver is dead after two vehicle crash on westbound I-96 Friday night.
The accident happened just after Jones Rd in Eagle Township.
Police say the woman, from Grand Rapids, was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when she lost control and went across the median.
She then struck a westbound vehicle driven by a 55-year-old woman from Clarksville.
The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the 55 year old was transported to Sparrow Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
The interstate was reopened just after 11 p.m. after being closed for several hours.
