OLIVET, Mich. — Olivet College is hosting Vocal Arts Day Tuesday, April 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on campus, 320 S. Main St., Olivet, Michigan. The event is free and welcomes any high school student interested in learning more about vocal arts opportunities as either a major of study or an extracurricular activity. No audition is required to participate.

The event gives students the opportunity to work one-on-one with current Olivet College choir members, tour campus and dine in the Kirk Center. The day culminates in a combined performance of Vocal Arts Day participants and Olivet College choir members in the Olivet Congregational Church, 125 College St. The performance is free and open to the public.

“It will be great to have all of these talented high school students singing together to make beautiful music on our campus,” said Director of Choral Activities Joel Moore. “I believe that a liberal arts education from a small college is an important option for high school students. Olivet College could be a great fit for many of these students as they seek higher education. These students can see what Olivet College is like, rehearse with college students and the college director for the day, audition for scholarships and perform with the college choirs in the concert that evening. It will be a great experience for everyone.”

Parents and guardians are invited to attend the event as well and will meet with admissions representatives, tour campus, and learn about financial aid packages and academic and extracurricular offerings at Olivet College.
