OLIVET, Mich. — Olivet College is hosting a number of events on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 to celebrate the Class of 2019. All events are held on campus, 320 S. Main St., Olivet, Michigan. Events are free and open to the public. Parking is also free and available in various lots on campus.
Events begin May 17 at 4:30 p.m. with Baccalaureate, a ceremony designed to be a blessing on the senior class. The event is held in the Olivet Congregational Church and includes musical performances and special remarks.
Events continue May 17 with the Senior Celebration in the Kirk Center at 5:30 p.m. The event offers refreshments, photos and time for graduates and their families to mingle with faculty and staff. Dress is business casual.
Events conclude with Commencement May 18 at the Cutler Event Center. Seating opens at 11 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 1 p.m. A photographer will be on hand to capture special moments, which will be available for order. There is no limit to how many guests can attend the ceremony. The facility is handicapped-accessible and handicapped-accessible parking is available. A State of Michigan disability parking placard or license plate is required for access to this area. Seating in a VIP section is available for guests in wheelchairs, those with limited mobility or those with impaired hearing. Due to space restrictions, each guest in the VIP section is allowed to be accompanied by only one additional guest. For those with impaired hearing, a sign language interpreter will be located on the Commencement platform in full view of the VIP section.
