OKEMOS, Mich. — The LARA employee said to have meningitis on Wednesday has been cleared of that diagnosis.
Further testing on Thursday showed the employee does not have meningitis but further information has not been provided.
The Okemos worker is still hospitalized.
LARA sent this statement to clarify:
"We were informed yesterday that a LARA employee at our Okemos office was diagnosed with meningitis. Further tests (Thursday) by health officials have now determined that our employee does not have meningitis, but is still in the hospital. When we received the initial report of meningitis, as a precaution, we did notify and educate staff in the building, and contacted the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the owner of the building, as it is LARA’s objective to protect the health of our employees. Our prayers are with our ill team member."
