An Oakland County Sheriff's deputy was killed during a police pursuit Thursday morning.
The chase started in Lapeer County and went westbound on I-69 to southbound M-15. It then entered Oakland County into Brandon Township.
The deputy, Eric Overall was outside of his patrol car and about to deploy "stop sticks" at the intersection of southbound M-15 and Seymour Lake Road around 12:30AM Thursday .
Police say the suspect hit the deputy and the suspect's vehicle then rolled over. The suspect was immediately taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities believe that the suspect deliberately hit Overall by swerving his vehicle.
Overall is a 22-year veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
