Drug maker Novartis has provided a temporary supply of medication to a Lansing Community College student suffering from melanoma.

We first told you about Josh Oleksiak earlier this month when he learned the medication he was using to help with his melanoma was set to be discontinued. Oleksiak's supply of the clinical trial medicine ran out on April 30th.

But drug maker Novartis has since found some leftovers of the medicine and Josh now has it in his hands.

Novartis says it's glad to provide a temporary solution until patients can find other treatment to help.

The company says it can't justify continuing to make a drug that isn't showing enough proof that it works.
