Those wanting to see the Northern Lights have a good chance over the next few nights as a geomagnetic storm watch has been issued for Tuesday.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, the moderate geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for Sept. 11 "due to the anticipated onset of coronal hole high speed stream."

The NOAA reports that the most likely area of aurora extent will include an area that features the lower peninsula.

When looking at the NOAA's three-day aurora forecast, there is a chance that the Northern Lights will be seen over the course of several nights. The best timing appears to include between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday night into Tuesday, 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday into Wednesday and a small chance between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday into Thursday.
