New study shows spike in ADHD cases

Posted

The number of kids diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD has increased over the past 20 years.

New research from the University of Iowa estimates ADHD cases rose from 6% in the late 1990's, to more than 10% two years ago. The reason for the increase is unclear.

Experts say it may be due to better awareness of the problem and changes in how ADHD is diagnosed.
