New study about women and heart disease

Posted

When it comes to heart attacks new research from the American Heart Association says men and women are not created equal.

While both can have chest pain the Heart Association says women also tend to experience shortness of breath, nausea, and back or jaw pain during an attack.

Black women are at particular risk, because they tend to have other health problems like high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes.

Experts say understanding gender and racial differences can help with treatment and prevention of heart disease.
