The people of Flint received new shower filters this weekend.
Members of a local plumbers union installed about a thousand filters for free.
They're designed to target metals and irritating chemicals.
Residents tell News Ten they're glad it's taken care of.
"It's a blessing. The water has been horrible on our skin, it makes us dry out. We have to use extra lotion, and it's a blessing," said Subreena Ross.
Plumbers and pipe fitters from all over came to help.
Residents also received low-flow shower heads and faucets.
