New recommendations made to the state legislature Wednesday would allow criminal justice workers and victims access to a tracking system and lab submission status of sexual assault evidence kits.
The Sexual Assault Evidence Tracking and Reporting Commission says the recommendations are intended to improve the processing and review of evidence kits.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the testing of these kits will continue until all have been accounted for and submitted for forensic testing.
