EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D. named Melissa Woo as senior vice president and chief information officer.

Woo will be responsible for the information and computer technology across campus.

Current Vice President and Chief Information Officer Rob McCurdy announced his resignation earlier in the week. His last day will be Oct. 4.

McCurdy is leaving MSU for a new job at a global accounting company.

Woo has worked at four other universities as technology and information administrations.

"Melissa has the right blend of skills and attributes we need at this time," Stanley said. "She possesses superb technical knowledge to support research enterprises."
