LANSING, Mich. — A multi-million dollar project is starting Monday in South Lansing.
McLaren Greater Lansing is breaking ground on a brand new hospital.
The facility will cost roughly $450 million.
It'll be next to Michigan State University off Collins Road.
This comes a year after the hospital announced the new campus.
The construction is expected to create about 2,500 one-year jobs.
In addition, McLaren will be adding about 80 employees once the new hospital opens.
The two old hospitals will be redeveloped, but plans for those have not yet been released.
Presidents of the university and the hospital, the mayor and other officials will be there for the ceremony at 10 a.m.
