There could be a new way for police to find out if you've been texting while driving.
The state of New York has proposed a bill that would equip officers with a "textalyzer." It's similar to a "breathalyzer."
The device would allow officers to scan phones at accident scenes for evidence of distracted driving.
According to the bill's supporters police would not have access to messages, contacts or pictures.
