New assistant fire chief is first woman chief in Lansing history

LANSING, Mich. — A ceremony was held in Lansing on Friday to welcome the new assistant fire chief.

On Thursday, July 18, it was announced that Teresa Robinson would be the new assistant chief.

She has 23 years of experience with the Lansing Fire Department.

She was a firefighter and EMT, and increased her EMS license level to Paramedic in 1998.

In May of 2015, she was promoted to Chief of Training and is now the first female division chief in the history of the Lansing Fire Department.
