The annual Lansing Home & Garden Show will be March 16th – 19th at the MSU Pavilion on 4301 Farm Lane, Lansing, MI 48910. Homeowners who need inspiration, advice, products and services can meet with hundreds of local businesses to find exactly what they need.
"Homeowners can get great ideas, talk to the local businesses and either make plans or just get great ideas for projects they want to do this summer," said Carolyn Alt, Showspan publicist.
The event will feature stages that host lessons and seminars on gardening, cooking and interior design.
"I think the education is one of the biggest features of the show and it is broken into three parts," said Alt.
Author Ruth Clausen will discuss the latest gardening trends and her book Essential Perennials. The second stage will feature Leslie Hart-Davidson of Hart-Davidson Designs who will teach the audience about interior design projects. Chef Angus Campbell of Secchia Institute for Culinary Education will take the third stage to teach the making of "creative delicious desserts."
"People always want to know what is new at the show," said Alt.
Every year, the Lansing Home and Garden show promises hundreds of exhibitors, dozens of feature gardens and education segments.
"Those are the staples of the show ...and what becomes new are the topics –what is currently trending, the new technical new cutting edge products," said Alt.
Saturday is family day at the Lansing Home & Garden Show where kid's admission is free between 10 a.m. and noon.
"Kids are a strong part of the house," said Alt, "I know my kids like to help make decisions about what color to paint the bathroom and what new chairs we are going to get for the kitchen. It is that sort of thought –How can we make it family friendly and help the kids feel like they are a part of it?"
The first two hours of the show will host a series of activities for children and parents including a project at the cooking stage and a presentation on bat conservation.
