The first Michigan State University graduate to file a Title IX complaint against Larry Nassar is asking for the state to make a change to how it teaches sex education.
Amanda Thomashow is asking the legislature to pass a Senate bill to mandate lessons on affirmative consent or "Yes Means Yes" policy.
She says the sex ed curriculum at state schools she went to never mentioned consent, and failed to inform students on how to recognize situations of sexual and domestic violence.
However, it's unlikely this year's version of the bill gets far in the legislature before the summer recess.
