Nassar requesting more time to prepare for federal child porn trial

Posted

New court documents filed Wednesday show Larry Nassar's attorneys will again ask the judge for more time to prepare for his federal child porn trial.

The former MSU and Team USA Gymnastics doctor is facing federal charges for possessing thousands of images and videos of child pornography.

This is the second continuance Nassar's attorneys have asked for in this case. The first one was granted, pushing the trial back from February to May.

FBI agents testified in December that more than 37,000 images and videos were found on a hard drive during a search at his home in Delhi Township. Agents say the hard drives were found in a garbage bin outside his home. They also say a GoPro camera was found, which allegedly shows Nassar sexually assaulting girls in a pool.

If he is convicted on those federal charges, he faces from 5 to 40 years in prison.
