LANSING, Mich. — A couple of bills introduced in wake of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal are a step closer to becoming law.

House Bills 4372, 4373, and 4378 were approved by lawmakers in the Michigan House on Wednesday.

House Bills 4372 and 4373 would require the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to permanently revoke the license of a health professional convicted of sexual abuse.

House Bill 4378 would exempt the names of victims filing civil actions alleging sexual misconduct from disclosure under public records laws.

The legislation now goes to the Michigan Senate for review.
